...is a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor with more than thirty years of experience working with children, adults, families and groups as teacher, counselor and clinical supervisor in a variety of settings. She is a member of the Association for Play Therapy, board member of the North Carolina Association for Play Therapy, and a member of the Sandtray Network. Elaine is a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor as well as an Approved Provider for the Association for Play Therapy and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. As educator, Elaine teaches graduate and postgraduate courses in various forms of counseling and presents at international, regional and state conferences.

Elaine enjoys partnering with clients to address a diversity of human problems including adjustments and transitions, trauma, loss – through death, foster care, adoption, or changes in family structure. She utilizes creative-expressive therapies: art, play, and sand tray, and holistic approaches to best match the needs of the client to cope, heal and grow.

Individual and group supervision, consultation, and training are offered to professionals who wish to increase their skills, knowledge, and comfort in using creative therapies, or work toward licensing or registration as Play Therapist. Personal process in the creative arts is offered to clinicians as well.
