is a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified at Northwestern University’s Family Institute. She has over 15 years of experience providing individual, couples and family therapy in a private setting. Her experience also includes teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, providing child and family therapy for troubled youth, school counseling and pastoral counseling with hospice. Sue is married, has three adult children, and lives in Oriental, North Carolina. She is an on-going learner, viewing life as a process of growth and exploration that enriches the self, the family and the community.

Sue integrates talk therapies with sandplay and expressive art therapies, as this may allow the understanding of thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to talk about. She encourages clients to clearly identify their own thoughts and goals, express emotions and beliefs, change actions, develop solutions, and ready themselves for a fuller, more productive and meaningful life. Sue uses the same integrative process in teaching and clinical supervision. She has been a clinical supervisor for ten years.
